My dad and I really got into Muskie fishing about two years ago. Once we discovered that our favorite area lake, Pomme de Terre had a thriving population, we set out to learn as much as we could about these powerful predators. We did some searching around and found an area guide (Jim Wilson – see links page) who turned out to be an outstanding source of knowledge. We have fished with him numerous times and have enjoyed every minute, despite the sore shoulders from cast after cast…Last year, we decided we were going to participate in the Missouri chapter of Muskies, Inc. tournament. Expectations were not very high due to the experience of some of the other anglers participating, but we figured we would give it our best shot. Turns out, there is a lot of luck involved in Muskie fishing. We found that out by winning the Friday tournament outright and by placing 4th in the Saturday / Sunday combo tourney. Not too bad for a couple of wet behind the ears Muskie fisherman.
