There are many different publications available to today’s deer hunter. Some of these resources are aimed strictly at deer hunting, while others have a more broad focus. Before you call in your subscription or get on online, I would like to point out to the magazines / ezines that I subscribe to.


Deer and Deer Hunting
The sole purpose of this magazine is for deer hunting. The main contributors and regular columnists have a wealth of knowledge and write in a manner that anyone can understand and enjoy. Deer hunters like you and me are also regular contributors, sending in pictures, stories and tips. Deer and Deer Hunting also focuses not only on whitetail, but other species of deer like black-tailed deer and mule deer. This is by far my favorite deer hunting magazine.





North American Whitetail
A very specialized publication, focusing on whitetail deer only. A very good resource for those of us that live in whitetail country and are thirsty for more knowledge on how to take the next world-record buck. Due to its more specialized focus, most of the subscribers to North American Whitetail are found in the Midwest and the South, the home range of whitetail deer.


Field and Steam
This is an everyman’s publication, covering not only whitetail deer, but all types of different species. As the name implies there is ample coverage of bass, trout and other fish species. Features are typically based on what season is in full swing, which is definitely helpful for the hunter who does not focus on one type of game. Field and Stream is also a great resource to look at what is new on the market in terms of hunting and fishing equipment – reviews are in-depth and believable. Field and Stream is a very well-known publication with millions of faithful readers





Buckmasters.com
This is an online resource with tons of information. Buckmasters.com is packed with information on equipment, hunting methods, locations, and hunting regulations. One of the main features is a forum filled with contributors from around the country. The online community is an outstanding resource for deer hunters to get answers regarding tactics, gear, hunting areas and much more.
