Hi This is a great website and I found the entry intriging,this will aid my catch especially when im competing,I will check back for updates. Should you ever find some newfound tackle be sure to post,in the past I have always banked on abu garcia reels but there are upteen choices and it can be distracting,long as they keep making prime reels they will be in my arsonal.

Hey Greg, personally, I use Abu Garcia Ambassador reels. The rods I typically throw depend on if I’m jerk-bait fishing or retrieving something like a bucktail. Typically, you want your bucktail rod to be around 6 and a half to 7 and a half feet long with a faster-action tip. For a jerkbait rod, you want something no longer than six and a half feet with a stout tip, allowing you to give more action to your jerkbaits. As for the make, I prefer St. Croix. Does anyone have any recommendations for muskie rods and reels? I’ve been reading up on different set-ups but thought I would send a request out here and hopefully i’ll get a response. thanks!

Glad to hear someone else who actually respects these fish. Being from Minnesota, I have a lot of love for the muskellunge. Glad I could be the first post! Hopefully you will start seeing some more posts soon. I’ve bookmarked you so until next time…
